Community Doula Support

Community Doula Alliance

A Black Woman-led 501c3 non-profit organization creating change within the community through:

  • The Diverse Doula Program (DDP) empowers racially and linguistically diverse doulas, particularly from underrepresented groups, to reclaim their cultural practices and receive mentorship. DDP connects expectant parents with culturally specific doulas who help families navigate social determinants of health like racism, poverty, and access to essential services.
  • The Portland Doula Training (PDT) Program of Community Doula Alliance is dedicated to training exceptional doulas through a reproductive justice and racial equity lens. PDT aims to increase the number of diverse doulas in the workforce by offering online and in-person training, including certification and continuing education. With courses available in multiple languages like Spanish, Swahili, and Somali, PDT supports doulas in becoming certified Birth Doulas on the THW Registry and Oregon Medicaid Providers.
